Frequently Asked Questions about City Trips

Cheap Cities in Europe

Are you wondering where you can travel cheaply in Europe? We have the answer: Eastern Europe.

Surprised?

In cities like Kyiv, Krakow, Prague, and Warsaw, short getaways for a weekend are the most affordable. The expenses are around €250 for accommodation, meals, and travel. Don't forget Tbilisi and Yerevan, the nearby capitals of Georgia and Armenia. Totally underrated and for me a hidden gem close to Europe, just four flight hours away. Our top recommendation for your next city trip.

The Cheapest German Cities for a Short Trip?

Especially in Berlin, Hamburg, and Dresden, you can undertake a city trip in Germany quite cheaply. Culturally, there is much to see in all three cities. There are even free attractions to enjoy. The price for a weekend in a German city is around €300-350.

What are the Most Expensive Travel Destinations for a City Trip or Short Getaway in Europe?

No question, Northern Europe is stunning. Unfortunately, it's also expensive. Especially Iceland's capital Reykjavik has costly flights. Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, and Copenhagen are not cheap either. However, these places can also be reached by long-distance bus or ship (ferry) and train from Northern or Eastern Germany.

Don't forget the cities of Switzerland: Zurich, Basel, or Bern. Here, too, you should expect higher expenditures than in our country. Hotels, dining out, and a drink at a bar - everything is more expensive. However, you can conveniently reach these cities by train.
