The Best Gifts for Photographers
As a photographer, there are many wishes. However, we often don't buy these things for ourselves. That's why we've gathered our favorite gadgets and are sharing gifts that photographers will surely love.
We've set no limits on the budget, ranging from affordable to a bit more expensive. These are all items we would have been happy to receive as gifts, rather than reluctantly purchasing ourselves. Well, those who can't wait have to buy for themselves.
Have fun with our gift tips for photographers!
Here you can find our gifts for travelers and globe-trotters
Camera Clip for the Backpack
An item that draws a lot of attention while traveling is the camera clip from Peak Design.
The "Capture Clip" (as it is officially called) is a versatile camera clip that is used to attach your camera to your backpack, strap, or belt. We always use it on our backpack. Especially on hikes, it's safer to have both hands free. The camera is securely held.
It's also ideal for city trips to have the camera readily accessible. Therefore, it's the perfect gift for photographers who like to keep their camera within reach.
Shoulder Bag Usable as a Camera Bag
The perfect blend of a camera bag and a hipster bag comes from Patagonia. With a capacity of 5 liters, it fits not only a wallet and smartphone but also the camera, batteries, and an additional lens in this stylish bag. Officially, this bag is marketed as a waist bag, although I do not use it for that purpose.
If you don't have a camera, it can also be used as a regular shoulder bag. For me, it serves both purposes.
Note: The exact name of the bag is "BLACK HOLE WAIST PACK 5L - Waist Bag" from Patagonia. Since it's available in new colors in online shops from time to time, it's best to search for it via the search engine.
Cleaning Kit for Mirrorless Cameras
Many photographers now own a mirrorless system camera. When changing lenses, it is unavoidable for dust to get on the lenses or the sensor. The result is irritating sensor spots that are difficult to retouch.
Many are hesitant to clean their sensor themselves. I took the plunge and am very happy with the result. A top tip for photographers as a gift idea.
Digital Camera Full Frame Sensor Kit (Box with Sensor Swab + 15ml Cleaner)
Lens Pen for Cleaning Lenses
We clean lenses with the Lens Pen in combination with a Rocket-Air blower (next tip). This one is high quality. Don't buy a cheap Lens Pen, as the top layer often comes off. Not good.
Rocket-Air Blower for Cleaning
An essential item is the blower for cleaning lenses and for easily removable dust on the sensor.
I don't know any photographer who doesn't own a blower. You reach for it first when there is dust on the lens or sensor.
An ideal gift for beginners in photography.
Fuji Instax Instant Camera or Printer
We always take the small Instax Fuji cameras and printers with us when we travel. Small souvenirs for people as gifts are always well-received.
Or have you ever gifted someone a picture of themselves who has never looked in a mirror? In the Andes of Peru, we moved a mother to tears as she received photos of her children for the first time in her life. She had never seen herself in a mirror either.
We own various Instax cameras. We have the square printer and also the "normal" one.
Photography Coffee Table Books
We love photography coffee table books. Every photographer will love you for gifting them a photo book. Is the birthday child planning a trip or have a favorite country or hobby? How about a book about it?
Coffee table books that we have in our bookcase and that photographers would also appreciate I've gathered for you here.

Nature Photography - The Great Photography Course
Also great are the books for travel destinations: photographing Iceland, photographing Mallorca.
Online Photography Courses for Beginners to Pros
Stagnation is regression, as they say. That's why we are always looking for opportunities for further education.
Whether you're a beginner looking to gift a photography course or a pro in a specialty who still wants to learn how other photographers work.
One works normally with Adobe Photoshop and wants to gain knowledge of Adobe Lightroom. Or take an online course in astrophotography (photographing the Milky Way).
Here are our tips for the best photo workshops (online):

Vouchers for Photo Books or Prints
We love to gift vouchers for online services for photo books or prints of vacation pictures in high quality. Every photographer will surely appreciate this.
Our favorite online service for high-quality photo prints is Whitewall. We like to have our photos printed as Hahnemühle Fine Art Print and framed. Alternatively, we order prints on aluminum dibond.
If you want to gift a voucher, this is possible with Whitewall.
Camera Backpack for Travel
What could be more important than a comfortably fitting and well-sitting camera backpack while traveling? Nothing. We're also happy to receive a camera backpack as a gift, as they are not always inexpensive.
Perfect for adventures abroad with many lenses and drones, and the best part: The manufacturer is from Germany.
Headlamp for Night
Photographers are often out and about before sunrise or after sunset. That's why it's essential to always have a good headlamp with you. A perfect gift for anyone who loves photographing the sunrise/sunset as well as the Milky Way.

Small Robust Hard Drive for Travel
Backing up photos while traveling is a topic that many neglect. Our tip is the small T5 SSD hard drives from Samsung with 1 TB. These small hard drives are robust and fast. Often, one doesn't buy these useful helpers for themselves. How about as a gift? For us, it's the best solution to back up photos on the go.
Tip: Read our articles about backing up photos while traveling

(Travel) Tripod
Many photographers do not own a tripod. Many think it's unnecessary. Of course, you can always place the camera somewhere for a long exposure to get a sharp picture. But a night shot of the Milky Way is only possible with a tripod.
We own various tripods and will introduce them to you in a detailed article: Here we published a test report for travel tripods
Waterproof Bags for Cables and Accessories
The small bags available in different sizes protect your camera accessories from moisture. Cables, memory cards, and batteries are thus safe.
In some travel countries, there is extremely high humidity. Therefore, we like to pack our equipment in these practical bags. A practical gift for anyone who loves traveling in jungle and rainforest regions.
Storage for Cables
Do you know the feeling? You're looking for a charging cable and can't find it in the chaos of cables? We have resolved this issue: Thanks to the handy electronics travel bag for charging cables, power banks, and hard drives.
In this cable organizer, everything has its place:

Memory Card Case
The small memory card case is a gift tip for a small budget. It provides space for all sizes of memory cards.
In a case, the memory cards are also safe from moisture or scratches. Since we don't want to delete cards while traveling, we prefer to store them in a safe place.

4-Port USB Plug for Travel
Who doesn't have this problem? Too few power outlets, too many devices to charge? Especially phone, tablet, batteries, and drone remote controls are charged via USB.
To charge as many devices as possible, the ultimate gift tip is a USB charger with 4 ports. One of the connectors is a "Quick Charge" connection, which allows you to charge a device 4x faster.

Large Power Bank for Charging Camera Batteries on the Go
Who hasn't experienced this: You're sitting at the airport or are cut off from the outside world and have no power to charge your electronic devices?
Not only for my trips to Africa but also for city trips, a battery charger is essential to charge phones, cameras, or headlamps via USB while on the go. Thanks to this power bank, I can fully charge my iPhone eight times. I can also charge my camera for travel multiple times.
As a gift, the small version Anker PowerCore 10000mAh is enough. I personally also have the Anker PowerCore 20100 mAh. For my Kamchatka trip (5 nights in a tent), this power bank was ideal. For cities, the small version is sufficient.
Camera Strap
For medium and larger full-frame cameras, we recommend the camera strap from Peak Design. The system consists of Peak Design quick-release clips on the actual strap and two sturdy anchor loops for attaching to the camera. The anchor loops and clips are extremely securely connected, yet can still be detached with one hand.
The strap is very robust and a top gift tip.

Action Camera with Accessories
Photographers who love being outdoors often own an action camera (GoPro or DJI Action). Valuable accessories are rarely purchased for themselves.
That's why we've gathered our favorite gadgets for action cameras that every photographer will appreciate:
Dome Port underwater accessory for DJI Osmo Action camera: This allows you to take the famous pictures in the sea, half above water and half below.
DJI Action Floating Handle, a camera grip that floats in the water
