Our neighboring country is very close to many in the Midwest! This is enough reason to dedicate a chapter to the land of tulips and windmills.
Nearly 3 million Germans travel to Holland each year. The trend is increasing. It's no wonder that the Netherlands offers many possibilities to spend a vacation. Whether by the sea, actively cycling - perhaps even in combination with a boat tour.

When Do We Speak of Holland, When of the Netherlands?
We commonly refer to our neighboring country as Holland. However, this is incorrect and can be considered an offense by residents of the province of Limburg if you call them "Hollander." Holland refers only to the two provinces of North and South Holland. In total, the Netherlands has 12 provinces. Therefore, it is incorrect to speak of Holland when referring to the Netherlands.
Thus, we should all speak of the Netherlands and not Holland.
