North America
Here on the travel blog, you will find travel reports, tips, and suggested itineraries for North America. North America includes the countries of the USA and Canada, and if we consider it closely, also Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, and Panama. Since the North American continent is very diverse, I have written down some tips for your journey.
North America: USA and Canada
The United States of America boasts major cities like New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, New Orleans, Philadelphia, or the dazzling Las Vegas. The landscapes are also very impressive.
Whether it's the Grand Canyon, the Everglades, or the famous Highway No. 1. These are just a few of the numerous highlights that we report on here.
For Canada, stunning views of bright blue lakes, the Niagara Falls, or one of the world's most famous roads: Icefields Parkway. But also the polar bear capital of Churchill (Manitoba), Toronto, and the beautiful Montreal.
Especially in the winter, Canada is worth a visit. Then you can ski in Champagne Powder in the Rocky Mountains in perfect conditions.
My tips on how to avoid jet lag after returning from the USA or Canada, are definitely worth a look.
Here you will find all travel reports for your trip to North America at a glance.

Central America
Beautiful Central America, also known as Middle America, is referred to as the land bridge between North and South America. The countries of Central America amaze with rainforests, beautiful beaches, and fascinating wildlife.
Except for Nicaragua and El Salvador, I have visited all the countries in Central America. Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Panama all impressed me. Some are quite Americanized, but you can also explore amazing people and incredible nature there.
Here you will find all reports and interesting information about Latin America. Enjoy!
Highlights in Central America
- Maya Pyramids of Tikal (Guatemala) - best at sunrise when the rainforest awakens
- Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico with many Mayan temples. The most famous is Chichen Itza
- Visit the Guna Yala Indians in Panama on the paradise-like San Blas Islands
- Explore the Arenal Volcano on a hike in Costa Rica
- Experience the wildlife: turtles, sloths, and toucans have captured my heart. I could watch sloths for hours with their funny looks.
Promoted as a highlight, it sadly is no longer one: Roatán Island in Honduras. Unfortunately, coral bleaching has heavily impacted this area. The reef is dead. You can only see living corals at a few offshore spots.

Why Visit Central America?
The countries of Central America have impressed me with their historic Maya pyramids, Caribbean dream beaches, and local cuisine. Get ready to search for the rainforests of Guatemala and Costa Rica, visit the volcanoes, and explore banana and coffee plantations.
For surfers, the countries also offer perfect conditions.
Best Time to Travel to Central America
If you want to be on the safe side, you should travel to Central America during the dry season. This extends in most countries to our winter months. However, I've also been there in our spring and fall. Due to climate change, seasons are shifting.
