Tips for Beginners
Here you will find all the tips for camping and traveling with a camper van. I am a part-time van lifer and travel for more than half the year around Germany, Europe, and the rest of the world.
After endless travels with rooftop tents, camper vans, and road trips around the globe, I have learned many things, and here are all the tips for camping beginners.
As a van owner, I will share how I got here and provide you with a buying guide. You shouldn't buy your own travel vehicle on a whim.
I have checklists for the necessary equipment and tech accessories because I primarily need good internet for working on the road. You can find my favorite camping gadgets here. These are the essentials in my gear and setup that I can't live without.
Of course, I don't want to withhold the most beautiful routes and camping spots from you. My mindset and everything you need to know about 'free camping' or wild camping is included.

Traveling with a Camper in ... Tips for Travel
The trendy term 'van life' has washed over to us from across the pond in recent years. It describes the unique feeling of being free on the road. It doesn't necessarily mean you live in your vehicle permanently.
Nowadays, it's quite simple: rent a camper (if you don't own one), hit the road, and spend the night in the most beautiful places. That's ultimate freedom, which you can enjoy every second to the fullest.
Especially during my three-month trip in Australia and in Southern Africa, I became truly aware of this: The most beautiful places are where there are no hotels or houses. In these countries, you can park right by the water, in a national park, or simply in the most beautiful nature, while (in the case of Africa) animals pass by you. This feeling is indescribable!

Can you do it? Pack only the essentials, leave out unnecessary items, and be spontaneous every day? Not everyone is born for camping. But that's okay.
I was a summer camp kid and enjoyed the freedoms even back then. I traveled with a car and rooftop tent and tested different camper vans in various countries.
When traveling with a camper van, there's no dress code, you quickly get into conversations with others, there's never a routine, and I can be spontaneous. All of this is made possible by this 'van life.' Traveling becomes more conscious and slower. It's more intense, and the journey becomes the goal, not the arrival.
Vanlife - what is that?
What I find amazing about it: I have everything with me! I don't have to pack and change accommodations over and over like with road trips. My cozy sleeping spot, a bathroom with a toilet and shower, a fridge with a kitchenette, a grill, and seating to chill out, along with a paddleboard, kayak, and mountain bike to explore the surroundings.
Thanks to solar panels, I have power all the time and a heater that provides the necessary warmth inside during cool temperatures. This makes the slow-paced travel in a camper even more enjoyable!
I guarantee you one thing: once you've experienced this freedom, you will become addicted. The trips will get longer, the small breaks on weekends will increase.
Through my 'job' as a travel blogger, I even earn my money with it. My mobile home office is always with me. Living and working while exploring the world is a dream. For over 5 years, this dream has come true, and I enjoy it every day.
